I love Idisio! Is he going to be in future books?
Oh, absolutely. Book 2 doesn't have his direct point of view, but he is in there. Idisio will return as a central character in Book 3.

How did you manage to detail the landscape so vividly?
I looked through real-world photos to find matching terrain and posted them up all over my office walls; I generally use shots from Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, southern Spain, and of course Egypt, Africa, and so on.

When is book 2 coming out???
(Believe it or not, this is almost always the first question people ask after finishing "Secrets of the Sands".)
Book Two, which is currently untitled and under last-stage revisions, is due out in Spring 2011. Tentatively, we're looking at another April launch; but we're not far enough along to say with total certainty yet.

I do/don't like Deiq; is HE in future books?
Oh, yes. Very much so. In fact, he's one of the main point-of-view characters in Book 2; and for those who dislike Deiq, you may just find yourself seeing him in a new light. Give him a chance; as he says in "Secrets":
"I do have far worse a name in the courts of Bright Bay than I deserve."
I will admit that I designed Deiq to be one of those polarizing characters whom people will either love or detest; which plan seems to be succeeding admirably!
